My First School Story Involving Magic...

Just to say, THIS WILL BE TERRIBLE.

Be warned...

KIDNAPPED!
By Maralie Charm

Maralie Charm opened her eyes and screamed as Kestrel LeStarre peered down at her.
“Mara! Shh!” Kestrel hissed, putting her hand over Maralie’s mouth.
“But… WHERE ARE WE?!” Maralie screamed again, slightly muffled due to Kestrel’s hand.
“Shh! I don’t know… but a few minutes ago, I think I saw…” she looked around nervously, “Dynamo.”
Maralie’s eyes opened wide. “But Dynamo… I thought he exploded.”
Kestrel shrugged, “I guess Nixion just didn’t throw that bomb far enough.”
The girls looked over to see Nixion Strange lying on the ground behind them. He looked unconscious.
“Can you please take your hand away from my mouth?” Maralie asked.
“No. You might scream again.” Kestrel shook her head.
Maralie licked Kestrel’s hand and she jumped back, squealing.
“OH MY GOD! EWW! YOU JUST LICKED MY HAND!” Kestrel screamed.
Maralie smirked. “Thank you for taking away your hand.”
Kestrel scowled.
“Okay,” Maralie said, standing up. “First, we have to figure out where the hell we are. Second, we have to wake up Nixion in case he gets annoyed later. And third…” Maralie faltered. “I actually don’t think there is a third.”
“Escape?” came a voice.
“Yes,” Maralie said happily. “Escape. Thank you… wait…”
Nixion laughed as she looked over at him.
“NIX!” Kestrel screamed.
“WE THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!” Maralie screamed.
“Well, thanks,” Nixion muttered. “That’s nice to know.”
The girls hugged him tightly and he squirmed in their grip.
“Guys,” he moaned. “I. Am. Not. A. Hugger.”
“We know!” the girls chorused.
Then Nixion turned his head.
“I hear footsteps,” he whispered.
The girls released their grip on Nixion and looked around, tensing up.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the little Magic Fighters,” Dynamo smirked as he appeared in the doorway.
“There was a DOOR?!” Kestrel hissed.
“I thought you knew!” Maralie hissed back.
“No, I very well did not!”
“Well, you should have told me that then!”
“That I didn’t know that there was a door?”
“Yes!”
Kestrel held her head in her hands. “Just don’t talk to me.”
“Okay,” Maralie replied, cheerily enough.
“I bet you’re wondering,” Dynamo continued, “why you’re here. Am I correct?”
“Uh huh,” Maralie nodded. Nixion poked her hard. “You’re not meant to answer! It’s one of those questions where you don’t answer.” he whispered sharply.
“Whoops,” she exclaimed, a little too loudly. “Sorry ‘bout that Dynamo.”
Nixion sighed.
Dynamo tilted his head, letting his long black hair fall into his face. He blew it up and it came right back down again. He scowled.
“Is she always like this?” he asked.
“Is this one of those questions?” Maralie hissed.
Kestrel face-palmed herself and poked herself in the eye. She then started crying.
“KESSIE,” Maralie hugged her. “Your poor eye.”
“I KNOW, Mara,” Kestrel muttered, trying to push her away.
“CAN I TALK NOW.” Dynamo said loudly.
“Go ahead,” Nixion sighed again.
“Right. Well, I have captured you to kill you, and… well, you basically know the rest,” Dynamo shrugged. “So, I’m going away and I’ll be back in an hour or so…” he checked his watch, “yes. An hour. So, don’t try to escape.”
He turned and walked out, locking the door in the process.
“Damn,” Nixion mumbled.
“I can help!” Maralie said cheerily. She stood up and skipped over to the door, singing softly. Nixion recognised it as What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction.
Maralie put her hand on the lock and it exploded.
The room went quiet.
“… Wow…” Kestrel murmured.
Nixion got up, eyes wide.
“YOU DIDN’T TELL US YOU COULD DO THAT!” he exclaimed.
Maralie ignored him and started singing Harry’s solo. Nixion sighed yet again and opened the door. He peered out and gestured to Kestrel.
Kestrel stood up and followed the others as they ran down the corridor.
They came to a wall.
“Oh poop,” Kestrel mumbled.
“Well, there’s definitely a gap up there,” Nixion pointed.
“Come on,” Kestrel held out her hands.
“Are we going somewhere exciting? Like Disneyland? I like Disneyland,” Maralie chattered on as she took Kestrel’s hand.
“This is going to make me look so girly,” Nixion muttered as he held Kestrel’s other hand.
She flew up into the air and Nixion almost laughed. It was so fun. He loved the sensation of flying.
They reached the top and then Kestrel flew down. They landed and Maralie stumbled around when Kestrel let go of her hand.
“I love being magic,” Nixion laughed.
“What can you do again, Nix?” Kestrel asked as they laughed at Maralie falling over.
“I am an Elemental,” he said, rather proudly.
“Show me,” Kestrel said eagerly.
Nixion clicked his fingers and summoned a flame into his hand. Kestrel watched in wonder as the flame grew and grew as Nixion poured his magic into it, then he blew onto it and it quenched.
“Cool,” Kestrel grinned.
“That was fire, quite obviously. Next, air,” he said, turning to the wall they had just flown over. He held his hand out straight, then suddenly splayed his hand and the wall exploded.
“Woah,” Maralie gasped from behind them.
They turned to see her, eyes wide open.
“Mara, you look so funny,” Kestrel smiled.
Maralie glowered.
Nixion put his hand down, palm facing the floor. He closed his eyes and the ground started to crack.
“Cool…” Kestrel murmured.
Nixion smiled and opened his eyes. “That was earth.”
“AWESOME!” Maralie shrieked happily.
“You wanna see water?”
The girls nodded vigorously. Nixion held out his hand and immediately Maralie started feeling wet. Very wet. Soon her hair was drenched. She shook her head, flicking her wet hair around, sending droplets of water splashing everywhere.
“Mara!” Kestrel complained as Maralie’s hair whacked her arm.
Kestrel was quite wet too. “Nix, will you use fire to dry us?”
Nixion nodded and clicked his fingers. He got a spark and generated it into a flame. He held it as they walked and the girls felt themselves drying.
“Cool!” Maralie hopped up and down.
“Okay… enough magic. We need to find out how to get out of here,” Nixion said, looking around.
Then Maralie spotted Dynamo.
“POPO at 3:00!” she screamed.
“What does popo mean-” Kestrel asked as Maralie grabbed onto her hand. She held onto Nixion’s arm and just as Nixion turned they vanished-
-and appeared behind the building.
“Teleporting,” Nixion smiled. “Fantastic.”
“MARA!” Kestrel yelled. “BAD GUYS UP AHEAD!”
Maralie closed her eyes and then…
“Squirrels?” Nixion said in disgust. “You could turn us into anything, and you picked squirrels?”
Maralie shrugged. “Uh huh.” She turned her head around and saw her tail.
“OH MY GOSH I’VE GOT A TAIL!” she squealed. “I’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE A TAIL!
Kestrel sighed (everyone seemed to sigh when they were near Maralie) and turned to face Nixion.
“At least the bad guys don’t know we’re here,” she said helpfully.
Nixion grunted and looked over at Maralie, who was stroking her tail lovingly.
“And you choose to agree with her?” he said.
“Um, I’m not… going to answer that.”
Kestrel walked over to Maralie, scratching her neck. Stupid fur.
“Will you change us back?” she asked Maralie.
“Mmm no,” Maralie shook her head, still rubbing her tail.
“What?” Kestrel frowned. “Mara, change us back now.”
“Nope,” Maralie said, popping the p.
“Maralie,” Nixion said, coming over. “You have to change us back. We can’t be squirrels forever.”
“I like being a squirrel,” Maralie replied.
“Well, we don’t,” Kestrel said angrily.
Maralie looked up. “But I like my tail.”
“It is a nice tail,” Nixion said, “but now we need to get out of here.”
“Will you get me a lollypop if I do?” Maralie asked, perking up.
“Um, sure,” he said, looking at Kestrel with a look of worry.
“And can it have Harry Styles’ face on it?” she asked, getting happier by the minute.
“Why do you want Harry Styles’ face on a lollypop?” Kestrel asked, puzzled.
“Because it looks yummy!” Maralie giggled.
Kestrel burst out laughing and Nixion looked at her. She fell onto the floor and her tail curled around her. She had red-ish fur. It was almost phenomenal the way she laughed. Her laugh was loud. Very loud. And her face turned at least six shades pinker. Well, when she was human anyway.
“HOLD HANDS!” Maralie yelled.
Everyone obeyed, eager to be human again.
Maralie closed her eyes and…
… And they appeared in front of a steam train.
“Hey! Our ticket outta here!” Kestrel grinned.
“NOT SO FAST,” someone yelled from behind them. They twirled around and saw three men.
“BAD GUYS!” Maralie screamed.
Kestrel, out of instinct, immediately tapped an etching on her forearm and it lit up with blue energy. She flung her arms out and a wave of energy hit one of the men and sent him flying.
Maralie teleported behind one of the men and clicked her fingers like Nixion did. But instead of fire, white energy danced in her palm. She pressed it to the man’s skin and he screamed and fell back, his body vibrating. She teleported back beside the others and looked at the last man, who looked to be shaking. Nixion held up his hand and the man whimpered. Clicking his fingers, Nixion came forward and the man gave a yelp before running away.
Shrugging, Nixion quenched the flame and turned to see Maralie sitting in the drivers seat of the train, pretending to be driving.
“BEEP BEEP! GET OUTTA THE WAY NIXION!” she screamed. Kestrel hung her head and got into the train, swiftly followed by Nixion.
“Do you know how to drive a train?” Nixion asked.
“Uh… no,” Maralie chewed her lip.
Kestrel laughed and shoved Maralie off the drivers seat.
“Lemme do this,” she said, cracking her fingers.
“AHHH DON’T DO THAT!” Maralie screamed, running around the train with her hands on her ears. Kestrel smirked, pulled a lever and…

Nothing happened.

Kestrel sighed. “I knew nothing would happen.”
She peered at the dashboard. “There’s a piece of paper here.”
Nixion picked it up.
“Just say the word ‘go’ in Irish and the train will start.”
“OH MY GOD I KNOW THIS!” Maralie screamed.
“Oh my God Mara, You’re an Irish sorcerer and you don’t know this?” Kestrel said.
“Yeah, seriously Maralie,” Nixion shook his head disapprovingly.
“But…”
“We wouldn’t know this. America doesn’t have Irish lessons.” Kestrel shrugged.
“Neither does Australia,” Nixion nodded.
“I’VE GOT IT!” Maralie yelled. “TÉIGH!”
The train shook.
Maralie smirked. “Told you.”
There was a scream. Maralie figured out it was hers and then-

“GET UP MARA!” Daisy Chain’s voice yelled.
“Wha…?” Maralie mumbled as she sat up.
“Aww, that was a dream,” she heard Kestrel sigh from below.
Kestrel and Maralie shared a bedroom and had a bunkbed. Maralie bagged the top one. Kestrel gave in after an hour.
“Kessie,” Maralie said, peering down. “Did you have a dream about us turning into squirrels?”
Kestrel’s eyes turned wide. “And an old train?”
Nixion came in. “And… Dynamo?”
Maralie blinked. Maybe it wasn’t a dream after all…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I am so evil.

DID YOU LIKE IT???

I'm giving it in to my teacher on Thursday :3

And by the way, we were given slips of paper in school, like what your story had to be about.
Mine read:
Your character is a master of disguise.
They are in enemy territory.
They are kidnapped.
They must escape using a steam train.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I am going to be so embarrassed when my teacher reads this...
